Manage and grow
Custom domains
Serve your page from your own domain, with the exact DNS records to add.
Before you start
Custom domains need a paid plan: Pro includes 1 and Agency includes one for every link page in your tier. Only workspace Owners and Admins can manage them. You also need access to your domain's DNS settings, usually where you bought it, such as Cloudflare, GoDaddy or Namecheap.
You can use a subdomain like links.yourbrand.com or a whole domain like yourbrand.com.
Connect your domain
- In the sidebar, open Domains.
- Enter your domain, choose a root page (see below) and click Add domain.
- Kliq shows the records to add and, if it recognises your DNS provider, where to add them. Add them using the copy buttons.
That's all. Kliq checks by itself every 30 seconds while the screen is open and once a day after that, for 30 days. A green check appears next to each record it finds. DNS changes can take up to an hour to show up. To check right now, click Check.
The DNS records
Always copy the values from the Domains screen, because the verification code is unique to your domain. These are the records for each kind of domain.
Subdomain, like links.yourbrand.com
Whole domain, like yourbrand.com
On a whole domain the record may be called ALIAS, ANAME or a CNAME on @. If your provider has none of them, use a subdomain like www. The TXT record proves the domain is yours, and the other record sends its visitors to Kliq.
Check the status
Each domain shows where it stands:
HTTPS is free and renews automatically. If the screen says the platform admin also has to add the domain to the hosting project, that step is on our side, and you can email us if it's taking long.
Root page and other pages
The root page is what visitors see at the domain itself, yourbrand.com. Change it at any time with the menu on the domain, or choose No main page. Without one, the domain sends visitors to the Kliq website, and so does any address on it that isn't one of your pages.
Your other pages work on the domain too, at yourbrand.com/page-name. They also stay available at their usual Kliq address.
If it doesn't verify
- Wait. DNS can take up to an hour.
- Check the name. Many providers add your domain automatically, so enter
links, notlinks.yourbrand.com. - Domains with a two-part ending, like .co.uk. The name Kliq shows may include part of your domain. Enter only what comes before your domain:
linksforlinks.yourbrand.co.uk, and_kliq.linksfor its TXT record. For these domains, use a subdomain rather than the whole domain. - Cloudflare. Set the record to DNS only (grey cloud). With the proxy on, Kliq can't see the record.
- Conflicting records. Remove any older record on the same name.
Remove a domain
Click the trash icon on the domain. Links on that domain stop working, while your pages stay available on Kliq.
